Monday 8th March 2010 Venue: Omnia Lakelankatu unit, LKC121
1. Welcome Eeva Hellsten opened the meeting and welcomed the partners to Finland. Päivi Ukkonen and Anne Kemppainen went through the practical arrangements and meeting programme.
2. Summary of earlier meetings
Henry Soyer summarized the project achievements so far. The presentation as an attachment of this report.
Each partners should remember to report to the coordinator the dissemination events they have done. The project has promised to have one internal and one external dissemination event per partner country.
3. Presenting the methods: Portfolio and different documents: the Netherlands
Dutch partners presented the APL process in Holland in a form of a play. The play represented all the different stages of APL:
- 1. Meeting between Candidate and secretary of APL centre
- 2. Meeting between Intake person in APL centre and candidate
- 3. Meeting between coach and candidate (4 meetings each 1 hour)

After these stages the materials go to the assessor and if the assessor accepts the material they will be forwarded to the board of exam who then takes the decision on APL. Presentation linked to the play as an attachment to the report.
4. Presenting the methods: Spain
Ascension Romero Gotor presented methods of accreditation of professional competences in Spain. The presentation as an attachment of this report. APL is not done yet in Spain, but the plan is to start implementing APL in the near future.
5. Presenting competence based exam
Omnia teacher Päivi Välimäki and student Myriam Griguich told about the competence based exam that will be done on Wednesday as part of the meeting programme. Myriam has planned a guided tour for the group as her last competence based exam.
6. Omnia Adult Education Centre presentation
Principal Sirkka Wiman presented Omnia and APL in Omnia Adult Education Centre. The presentation as an attachment of this report.

Tuesday 9th March 2010 Venue: Omnia Kirkkokatu unit, KK2037
1. APL in Finland Mr Lauri Kurvonen from Finnish National Board of Education presented Finnish Education system and APL in Finland. Mr Kurvonen’s presentations-1-, presentations-2-, as an attachment of this report.
2. Qualification Committees in Finland
Ms Lena Öhman Jokinen from Presented competence based qualifications in Finland and role of Qualification Committees in Finland. The presentation as an attachment of this report.
3. Personalisation plan in Omnia apprenticeship training office
Ms Kirsti Hakoniemi presented Omnia apprenticeship training office and structure of apprenticeship education in Finland. The presentation as an attachment of this report.
4. Presenting the methods: Personalisation plan
Teacher Sari Jokihaara told about making a personalisation plan for a student in Omnia Adult Education Centre. All Omnia Adult Education students make in co-operation with teacher his/her own individual personalisation plan concerning preparatory training, on the job learning and competence examinations.
5. Presenting the methods: Practical assessment: UK
Christine Lester presented APL in the UK and Allan Claire showed from the on-line platform how he does the accreditation in practice.

6. Project management matters
Next project meeting will be in Holland 17th-19th May 2010. Dutch partners presented two option for the accommodation and the meeting decided that everyone will stay in Hotel Blanc. Dutch partners will make the accommodation reservations for everyone. The theme of the meeting will be staff training for APL and comparing Healt Care study programme of physical care for people in institution in each country (EQF 4). Also evaluation of the whole project will be done in the next meeting.

Wednesday 10th March 2010
Tour of Helsinki was organized as a competence examination. Omnia Adult Education student Myriam Griguich gave an exam of one module of Vocational Qualification in the Tourism Industry. Myriam studies in programme in Tourism Activities. Evaluation of the exam was made by three assessors; the employee, the employer and the education sectors representative.
